Corrections and known gaps
What we got wrong, and what we don't know
Every record on Dissinter links to its official source. When a page is found to disagree with that source, the fix is logged here with the old wording kept, so nothing is corrected silently. The same page says plainly what the record does not include.
Report an error
If a page disagrees with the official record, say which page and what the official source shows. Include the link to the source if you have it. Reports are checked against the official record before anything changes, and every published fix appears in the log below.
Contact method not set yet. The owner has not yet chosen how reports are received (an email address, a form, or both). Until then, use the contact on the About page once it is published.
Corrections log
No corrections have been published yet. The first imports went live on Maryland (Oct 29, 2026), Virginia (Oct 29, 2026).
What the record here does not include
- Maryland: 5,565 individual votes are recorded by the source by title or surname only (for example "Speaker"). They appear on bill pages as recorded and are not counted on any profile.
- Maryland: the source does not say which version of a bill (as introduced, amended, enrolled) each floor vote was on. Bill pages link every text version instead.
- Maryland: campaign-finance filings are not imported. Statements have not been matched to votes for any official.
- Virginia: the 2026 Regular Session import is partial. Bills the source has not yet sent are missing, so sponsor and vote counts can be low.
- Virginia: 1,877 individual votes are recorded by the source by title or surname only (for example "Speaker"). They appear on bill pages as recorded and are not counted on any profile.
- Virginia: the source does not say which version of a bill (as introduced, amended, enrolled) each floor vote was on. Bill pages link every text version instead.
- Virginia: campaign-finance filings are not imported. Statements have not been matched to votes for any official.
- District of Columbia: no official records imported yet. Everything shown for DC is fictional sample data, labelled "Sample".
Two dates on every record
Updated on a bill or legislator is the date the source last changed that record. Imported, in the notice at the foot of each page, is the date Dissinter last copied the records. A separate “verified against the official site” review has not been done yet for any jurisdiction, which is why every imported jurisdiction is marked a soft launch.
